The 10th annual Country With Heart benefit for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has proven to be a milestone year with a record-breaking donation total. This week, founder and host, entertainer Bobby Marquez, and Country With Heart publicist and emcee, Jennifer Herron, presented St. Jude team members with a 40-thousand dollar donation.

All proceeds from Country With Heart go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The money was raised during a one-night event during CMA Fest week, all thanks to the generosity of loyal country music fans who bought tickets to the show, bid on auction items and made donations. Supporting sponsorship from Workout Anytime 24/7 and Springer Mountain Farms brought the show back to the intimate Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theatre.

Marquez shares, “This donation was a huge team effort. There are so many friends that come every year and even bring auction items to help out. I need to send a special thanks to the legendary CEO of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Midnite Jamboree, David McCormick for his support. Our sponsors have the biggest hearts. And Rick Murrell and everyone at the theatre worked hard to make everyone feel at home and made sure the show sounded great. The friends that volunteered had a long, long night, but all were smiling. Our auction donors impressed with collector items. Plus, the entertainers were fantastic! That check amount would never be possible without each and everyone of these people.”

Online tickets sold out leading up to the June 8th gathering with a home cooked buffet, silent auction and autographs, all in true “fan fair style.” Bobby Marquez helped kickoff the show with a newly written theme song for the event which had the audience singing along, “We are Country With Heart.”

The stellar lineup of entertainers included Jason Coleman, Charlie McCoy, John Conlee, Donnie Winters, Crystal Gayle, Rex Allen Jr., Wood Newton, Alan Rhody, Barbara Fairchild, Exile and Lee Roy Parnell.

The evening concluded with a special presentation by Mr Jerry Coach on behalf of the State of Oklahoma and State Representative Steve Bashore. The Citation of Appreciation recognizes Bobby Marquez for his musical legacy and philanthropic efforts.

“I was blown away. What a surprise from a state that has always been so good to me, allowing me to share my music at some of the greatest venues. It is really overwhelming to witness all of the kindness from the Country With Heart event. I hope it continues to spread and we continue to help St. Jude find cures and save lives,” states Bobby Marquez.
