Today, the British born, LA-based singer songwriter LAUREL shares her studio album PALPITATIONS alongside single “Coming Back For More” via Communion Records.

“Coming Back For More” embellishes groovy percussion with breezy, lightweight lyricism in an airy pop fantasy. Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, LAUREL says: “‘Coming Back For More’ is about when you’ve only just met someone, and you’re obsessed with and addicted to them already.”
With themes of love, freedom, vulnerability, and embracing your authentic self while keeping it light with catchy sonics throughout, LAUREL delivers 11 tracks of pop brilliance on PALPITATIONS, all filtered through a haze of complex-yet-relatable emotions. The album opens with “45 Degrees”, LAUREL’s airy vocals and carefree lyricism perfectly embodying the warmth of sun-drenched days, followed by the euphoric “Wild Things” – a summer-ready cut of polished pop glory. “Burning Up” grapples with the relentless pursuit of change in a dazzling 80s dance anthem, while “Only One” weaves together themes of longing and desire with emotive lyricism and soul-stirring instrumentation in a synth-infused piano ballad.
Speaking about PALPITATIONS, the singer-songwriter comments: “Each song on my record can be felt as a palpitation. A moment of angst/adrenaline/love/sorrow/heartache/euphoria. Emotions that are so strong that they make your heart skip a beat.”
Coming in hot on the heels of a sold out shows celebrating her new creative era at London’s Oslo, New York’s Baby’s All Right, and Los Angeles’ El Cid, LAUREL has already seen immense support from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop and Future Artists, and Australia’s Triple J. 2024 is gearing up for what promises to be an unforgettable year for LAUREL – a moment where she’ll finally step up to the pop throne. Speaking about the inspiration behind “Only One”, LAUREL says the track is about “Falling so deeply in love. It’s a new love but a sure love, surer than anything you’ve ever felt. It’s intimidating – you aren’t sure whether you can trust them yet, and they feel the same. A part of you wants to run away, but really you can’t. You don’t have a choice but to see it through because they’re the “only one”.”
Having previously joined the likes of MUNA, MØ, MS MR, Oh Wonder, and Flume on tour, LAUREL also featured on Flume’s critically acclaimed album Palaces, joined the musician on the main stage at Coachella 2022 and continued to perform with the Australian DJ across tastemaker stages throughout the year. More recently, LAUREL collaborated with Kita Alexander and Snakehips. The songstress also finds herself wrapped up in the fashion world, having previously collaborated with esteemed brands such as Burberry, Ganni, Vivienne Westwood and many more.
The album arrives just weeks after LAUREL’s UK and EU headline tour announcement, marking her highly anticipated return to the stage. The tour will kick off on October 20th at G2 in Glasgow, followed by performances at Academy 3 in Manchester on October 21st, before arriving at the iconic KOKO, London on October 22nd. The UK dates are followed by a run of EU shows across Amsterdam, Paris, Antwerp, Cologne and Berlin. The remaining tickets are available here.
