In case you missed it, Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records singer/songwriter Megan Moroney made her debut appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 4, and delivered a heart-stirring performance of her hit song “No Caller ID.”
In yet another milestone for one of Country’s brightest young stars, Moroney lit up the Tonight Show stage in a white sequined Bronx and Banco dress paired with Miron Crosby boots and delivered a deeply powerful rendition of “No Caller ID” — one of the first tracks released from her forthcoming sophomore album Am I Okay? (due out July 12, pre-save/pre-add here). Infusing every line with a breathtaking intimacy, the Emo Cowgirl performed the post-breakup ballad against the backdrop of a beautifully designed video wall depicting a cityscape of apartment buildings, the lights of each unit turning off and on throughout the song and adding another layer to its heavy-hearted mood.
Written by Moroney, Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington, and Jessie Jo Dillon, “No Caller ID” brings Moroney’s straight-from-the-heart songwriting to the story of getting a late-night call from an ex just when she’s started to move on with her life. After premiering in January, “No Caller ID” set the record for the biggest Country female song debut in streams in the U.S., amassing 8.4 MILLION global streams in its first week alone.
This Friday (June 7), Moroney will share the latest song from Am I Okay? — a fiery and fun-loving anthem called “Man on the Moon.” In addition to “No Caller ID” and “Man on the Moon,” the hugely anticipated follow-up to her blockbuster debut album Lucky will also feature previously released fan favorites like “28th of June” and “Indifferent.
Tomorrow night in Ohio, Moroney will continue her run as support for Kenny Chesney’s SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR. As she gets set to perform at major summer festivals like Lollapalooza, Moroney will also take the stage at Nissan Stadium and the Chevy Riverfront Stage as part of CMA Fest 2024. Along with notching her first No. 1 at Country radio and landing on coveted lists like the Los Angeles Times’ “100 best songs of 2023,” “Tennessee Orange” soon found the Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records artist winning Breakthrough Female Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards and making her debut appearances on major TV shows like TODAYJimmy Kimmel Live!Good Morning America, and New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. A Georgia native who got her start singing covers with her dad and brother — and later began penning her own songs while studying accounting at the University of Georgia — Moroney made her massively acclaimed full-length debut with 2023’s Lucky: a powerhouse body of work that turned up on best-of-the-year lists from leading outlets like The New York TimesRolling StoneBillboard, and The Associated Press (who hailed her as a “Gen Z songwriter with Taylor Swift-level acuity”). Produced by Kristian Bush and built on a timeless collision of Country, Folk, and Southern Rock, Lucky also revealed the lived-in intimacy and electrifying impact of her songwriting on tracks like “I’m Not Pretty” (her current single, praised by Billboard as a “cheeky, defiant clapback”). Continuing her meteoric rise, she recently won the New Female Artist of the Year prize at the 59th ACM Awards while earning nominations by CMA, iHeart, and Billboard Music Awards, in addition to appearing at The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles as part of its illustrious SPOTLIGHT series in the midst of her sold-out THE LUCKY TOUR — a fall 2023 run that brought her magnetic live show to iconic venues across the U.S. Recently featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, MusicRow’s Next Big Thing Class of 2024, and Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music, she kicked off 2024 with her stunning new song “No Caller ID.” With her sophomore album Am I Okay? due out in July — and over 1.1 BILLION total global streams to date — Moroney is out with Kenny Chesney on his SUN GOES DOWN 2024 TOUR and performing at high-profile summer festivals like Lollapalooz
